Weekly Update: October 17-21 , 2022

FHSAA DISTRICT CHAMPIONS!

Congratulations to our Eagles Volleyball team for winning the District Championship on Thursday, October 20!  They defeated Lake Worth Christian in a 3-0 match to bring home the trophy and qualify for FHSAA Regional Tournament.  Eagles Volleyball will host the Regional Quarterfinal match on Tuesday, October 25 at 7pm at HOME!  Tickets to attend the game need to be purchased at www.gofan.co   ALL JCS Fans, including JCS Students need to purchase tickets to attend the FHSAA Regional Match.

Cross Country:  Varsity Cross Country ran their District Meet on Thursday at The Pine School. Congratulations to the Boy’s Team for finishing 10th in Districts! A tough course for any runner, we are incredibly proud of this young team and the season they have had!

Football:  Varsity Football host Tradition Prep on Thursday, October 20.  Eagles secured their fifth win of the season 56-0.  The Eagles also celebrated their 12 seniors with a presentation at half time along with seniors from Cheer and Women's Golf.  Next up:  SSAC Playoffs begin with a trip to Westminster Academy on Friday, October 28 at 7pm.     

Men's Golf:  Varsity participated in their last regular season matches of the season.   Will Keiley tied for 1st in the match on Tuesday and in Thursday's match, Brody Ball had an eagle.  Next up:  District Match on Monday, October 24.  

Women's Golf:  Varsity has their District Match at 'home' at Sandhill Crane on Monday, October 24.  

Swimming:  Varsity Swimming had a quiet week with no matches so they could prepare for Districts.  Next up: District Meet on October 26 at Indian River State College.

Winter Tryouts:  Three of our Winter Sports begin tryouts today!  If your student is interested in playing Basketball, Soccer or Wrestling this winter, please make sure their eligibility is completed before attending tryouts.  

FCA Huddles:  JCS Alum and FCA Rep, Sarah Narbone (c/o 2017), lead a time of fellowship and devotions with our Middle School and High School student-athletes.  Sarah and other FCA Reps will be meeting each Monday this year.  If you haven't already come to one, make plans to join us at the next one:  October 24.

Reminders:
All home athletic contests and many of our away contests will have cash-less gates.  Please be prepared to purchase your tickets before arriving to the game.  For JCS home games, purchase an Eagle Fan Club annual pass and simplify your game tickets.   If an opponent is using an online ticket - we will share that information on our Instagram the day of the game!

FACA Recognizes Coach Mize and Allison Moore

We are proud to announce that Coach Sarah Mize and Allison Moore have received top honors from the Florida Athletic Coaches Association this season.  

Coach Mize was selected as the FACA Women's Volleyball Coach of the Year for District 20-2A.  In her second year as Head Coach for the Eagles, Coach Mize brings a lifetime of volleyball knowledge to the program.  She approaches her team with a balance of compassion and toughness.  Ensuring the team has the tools to succeed, she led the JCS Women's Volleyball team to the District Championship this past week.   Congratulations, Coach! 

Allison Moore ('23), was selected as the FACA Most Valuable Player for District 20-2A.  On November 13, Allison will participate in the FACA All-Star Classic, played at Southeastern University.  A member of the Varsity Volleyball team since 7th grade, Allison's presence on the court is powerful.  So far this season, she has amassed 288 kills and 35 aces.   Plans for next year include playing Volleyball and continuing her education at Calvin University in Grand Rapids, MI.  Congratulations, Allison!  

Weekly Update: October 10-14, 2022

Winter Tryouts:  Three of our Winter Sports begin tryouts today!  If your student is interested in playing Basketball, Soccer or Wrestling this winter, please make sure their eligibility is completed before attending tryouts.  

Cross CountryVarsity Cross Country has their District Meet on Thursday, October 20 at 5:15pm at The Pine School.  Tickets to attend can be purchased HERE.  

Football:  Varsity Football had their Bye Week over fall break.  They'll be back for their last regular season game on Thursday, October 20 for their Senior Night game, hosting Tradition Prep at 6:30pm.  It will also be a BLACK OUT!!!    

Men's Golf:  Varsity hosted Palm Beach Gardens HS on Monday and Cardinal Newman on Wednesday.  Great matches both days for the Eagles with a win on Wednesday over Cardinal Newman.   

Women's Golf:  Varsity played Dwyer High School on Friday of Fall Break at Mirasol.  The match was called after 6 holes due to lightning.  Next up:  District Match at Sandhill Crane on October 24.    

Swimming:  Varsity Swimming had a FULL week!  Three matches, including Prelims and Finals for the Palm Beach County Championship.  Throughout the week, school records were broken, personal bests were made and each swimmer gave their all.   We also had a chance to celebrate the four seniors, who jumped out of the pool and rushed to the gym to make it in time!

Next up: District Meet on October 26 at Indian River State College. 

Volleyball:  Varsity Volleyball closed out regular season with a home game on Monday against Somerset Prep and an away match at Seminole Ridge.  Both were Wins!  Monday, just before the Somerset Prep game, we recognized the three seniors in a senior night presentation.  Next up:  District Semi-Final 10/18 at 5pm at Lake Worth Christian and with a win tonight, District Championship 10/20 at 7pm at Lake Worth Christian.  Game Tickets can be purchased HERE!

Senior Nights:  On Thursday, October 20, we will be celebrating our senior student-athletes from Cheer, Football and Women's Golf.  Please join us at halftime of the Varsity Football game (at JHS) and celebrated these seniors!
