The JCS Eagles traveled nearly 200 miles to face an undefeated Mount Dora Christian team and came away with a resounding 42-10 victory to advance to the state semi-finals next Saturday. Leading the way for the Eagles was quarterback Reese Johnson who ran for 206 yards and 2 touchdowns and also connected with Matt Narbone on a 33 yard touchdown pass. Shane Sawyer also scored a pair of touchdowns and rushed for 85 yards on the night. The Eagle defense led by the linebacker core of Colton Smith, Griffin Phillips, Shane Sawyer and Matt Narbone continued its strong play limiting Mount Dora to 70 yards of offense and 3 points before the game went to a running clock in the second half. Next up will be St. Stephens Episcopal in Bradenton for the chance to go to the state championship game in Orlando on November 18th.
