Senior Pitcher Reed Burke Signs With Florida Southern

Senior right handed pitcher Reed Burke has signed a National Letter of Intent to continue his baseball career at Florida Southern College. Burke, a co-captain for the JCS varsity baseball team, has earned an athletic scholarship and will have a chance to immediately contribute for the Mocs as a Freshman.

FSC Head Coach Lance Niekro: "We are very excited to add Reed to the FSC Baseball program. Not only does Reed have the potential to be an impact player for us, he also exemplifies they type of student-athlete that we want to represent our program."
 
Burke is the second JCS player to play for FSC. Nelson Rood played for the Mocs from 1982-83 and was later signed by the Houston Astros. FSC has one of the most successful Division II programs in college baseball history, boasting 9 national championships and over 150 players to continue on to professional baseball. Congratulatiuons to Reed Burke, Florida Southern Baseball signee.
