Your Eagles wrapped up the first week of regular season on Saturday... Here's a quick rundown of what happened in week 1.
On Tuesday (8/24), Varsity Cross Country competed in the JHS Invitational at Carlin Park. In the first meet of the season, the Eagles ran impressive times despite the heat. The men's team came in 3rd with Jacob Stanton leading our runners, placing 3rd with a time of 19:47.42. Thursday (8/26), the team went north to compete in Centennial's meet - Men's team placed 4th and each of the women placed in the top 20.
Men's Varsity Golf competed in a quad-match on Thursday with South Fork, Wellington HS and Martin County HS. The Eagles placed second with strong performances by Dalton Moore (36), William Keiley (43), Mike Gioffre (44) and Jacob Megathlin (44).
Thursday night, the Eagles competed in a tri-meet with Palm Beach Central and Dwyer High School. With each member of Eagle's swim competing in 2-4 races, it was a great night! Sawyer Pro placed 1st in the 200 freestyle, Kevin Young placed 1st in the 100 Breaststroke and the Women's 200 Freestyle Relay (Carly Meinke, Hallie Brams, Rebekah Malone and Courtney Grady) also placed 1st. Next meet is Tuesday, 8/31 at Oxbridge Academy.
Tuesday, 8/24, the lady Eagles JV and Varsity Volleyball hosted King's Academy. Each were hard fought matches, but the Lions came out with the wins. Friday night, 8/27, Varsity took to the floor and hosted Pine School. In a 3-0 win, they improve their record to 1-1. Next match is Tuesday, 8/31, at home vs Trinity Christian.
Saturday Night Lights - Eagle's Varsity Football travelled to Wellington to play Berean Christian on 8/29. The Eagle's showed up and brought home a 60-0 win. Notable Eagle stats: Jamarr Fleuridor - 3 TD's, Brian Lafrance - 2 TD's, Jeremiah Augustin - 2 TD's. This is a bye week for the team, they'll resume game play next week with a trip to Glades Day.
